Ipad Review… In line at 7am, I am a True Geek!!!

I could not wrap my head around where the ipad fits in our digital world. Of course it fits nicely between the Macbook & the iphone but do you need one??? No, definitely not if you own a Macbook. Does it replace a Macbook??? No it does not but… and I do mean a loud BUT!!! You can use this device for 80% of your daily computing chores like browsing, email, twittering, facebooking, writing, spreadsheeting, reading, gaming (i don’t game) etc…. For example- I don’t think I will ever carry my 17″ again unless I am shooting. If it had USB and could handle file transfers my 17 would become a permanent desktop. In fact I was about to downgrade to a 15″ but don’t need to any longer… For travel, meetings & presentations I foresee myself on the ipad 100% and wow does it fit nicely in my Tumi backpack!!!

Initial Pros-

director/dp

My passion is directing and lensing short form films that sell people, products and brands. In addition, I love gear!!! Digital Gear!!! I started with Super 8 film camera my dad gave me and a razor blade editing system. At the same time I started to create tracks on an old strat, Juno 60, Boss Beat box & a multitrack cassette recorder but then I discovered sequencing, Soundtools and editing on the Avid. I have always believed that progress & digital is inevitable. The faster you adopt and make digital look & sound good the further ahead of the game you will be. So, today I own and operate the most progressive imaging gear with the Red One/Epic, Phantom & Canon 5D MkII/7D being front and center. I also have a large investment of time and money in the new unorthodox workflows that are required to render the best images today. This blog is dedicated to sharing my day to day research, test and actual production techniques.
